Spring

Our spring was a busy one! Easter was a very special time for us this year. Last September, Dave surprised the heck out of my by telling me he signed up for RCIA classes (to become a full Catholic in the church). He was baptized a Catholic as a baby, but never received any of the other sacraments. He had talked about taking the classes even before we were married, but after 14 years, I had pretty much accepted the fact that it was never going to happen. So, after many long months of classes, retreats, and masses, we celebrated with Dave as he made his First Eucharist and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. What made it extra special was that Adam made his First Eucharist along with him. Adam's 2nd grade class was scheduled to receive the sacrament in the beginning of May, so they let him do it early with Dave. I cried a few tears (alright, maybe more than a few) as I watched them go up to receive Holy Communion. Here are some pictures of the special day.

It's about time!

I originally set up this blog about two years ago, but never got beyond setting up the basics. Here's my first attempt at actually following through and posting! Hopefully this will let the grandmas (and whoever else stumbles upon it) see what we're up to on a more regular basis!
